J-CUB START-UP OPTION FOR STUDENTS

START YOUR OWN BUSINESS

Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? If so, Constructor University’s Start-Up program is here to support you in evaluating and developing your business idea.

Constructor University’s students are creative, forward-thinking, and driven. These qualities combined with a very concentrated know-how and an international student body result in the perfect ecosystem to develop your business idea on our campus in Bremen.
Our J-CUB option taps into this talent by supporting students to develop their business initiative from idea to market launch.

We welcome students from all degrees and all study programs (BA, MA and PhD) who are curious and want to explore and take their business ideas to the next level.

 

WHAT IS IN THERE FOR YOU

We offer business guidance, workshops, events, matching and networking opportunities with mentors and local businesspeople, support entering competitions and soliciting grants.
Our support includes:

  • Business development workshops & events
  • Company formation and legal workshop
  • Tax & accounting workshops
  • Co-working office space on our campus for students only
  • Mentorship from experienced business professionals
  • Guidance on applying for competitions, early funding opportunities & other grants
 

WHO IS IT FOR?

We welcome all students, regardless of their program of study. If you have a business idea, we want to be here for you. The J-CUB is open to the following student groups:

  • BA Students from all undergraduate study programs have the opportunity to work on their business idea in the 4th and 5th semester of their studies. They should contact us during the third semester.
  • Master or PhD students work on their business ideas in parallel to their studies.
 

HOW TO APPLY

Entry to our program is by application only. Here is what you need to do:

  • Contact Prof. Dr. Tilo Halaszovich or Paloma Gutiérrez Keever by email (start-up [at] jacobs-university.de) to arrange a meeting to discuss your start-up idea in an informal setting. This meeting is compulsory. If you are a Bachelor student, you must contact us during the 3rd semester.
  • After the meeting, we will ask you to write a short application form. We will provide you with a template to fill in.
  • You will receive a response and instructions on the next step by email within two weeks of submitting your application.
 

BRIDGE PARTNERSHIP

Our University is part of the BRIDGE partnership, a group of local universities that support entrepreneurship. We share knowledge, experience and contacts. Our common goal is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in the Bremen region through innovation, collaboration and the breaking down of sectoral and regional silos.
